Torben Andersen

I was borned in Graasten in 1952 and has been playing guitar since I was nine. In the sixties playing in several rockbands and danceorchestras until 1973 were I learned to play classical guitar and shortly after began teaching.

From 1975 i studies classical guitar at Albert Aigner in Lübeck music conservatory and recieved my diploma in 1981.

A few years before my exam I created a classical guitar duo with John Johannsen from Aarhus.

Vi had the pleasure of playing church concerts and did some recordings with the Danish Radio station P2. At the same time I also played in rockbands and danceorchestras along with teaching in music school in southern Denmark and northern Germany.

I have also completed some courses at Prof. Robert Brojer and the south american guitarist and componist Abel Carlevaro.

In 1997 I took a course in jazz  at DMpF. i jazz arrangement, omprovisation technique and jazz theory at Enrico Rosa(guitar) and Peter Brem(sax/theory)

The guitar have always given me some great and amazing experiences such as playing with Pavarotti and southern danish symphinic orchestra at his Farewell Tour in 2005.

Already in me time as a student I decided to write educational books and I experienced with different models of teaching.

I have created 3 educational guitar books called “Den røde tråd”(the red thread) 1, 2 and 3 along with the book “Guitarorkesteret”(The guitar orchestra) which is a culmination of 35 years of experience as a guitar teacher.

I teach classical, electrical and rythmic guitar on several levels at Sonderborg music school.
